2018-19 Volkl Kendo Skis, 177 cm, with Salomon STH13 Bindings
The popular Volkl Kendo skis defined the all mountain category a few years back and other mfg are copying this high performing ski in the category of All-Mountain. This ski has won lots of awards and reviews of the ski are easily found on-line. The Kendo skis are fully reinforced by two sheets of titanal which dampens chatter and strengthens the ride. They are very stable at speed. Furthermore the Kendo skis have a full sidewall which helps transfer all of the power onto the snow. The 90 mm waist of the Kendo ski gives enough float for playful powder turns without taking away the agility needed for the groomers. These skis feature a low-rockered tip that is long and a slight rise in the tail. These skis are good for the upper intermediate as well as the advanced skier. The dimensions are : 127/90/110 (tip/waist/tail widths), a 20 meter turn radius, and 177cm long. Vertical sidewalls with a torsion box for incredible grip precision stability and smoothness. Use of two woods for different areas of the ski. Ash is used underfoot to provide stability and secure screw retention. Poplar at either end provides resilience and snap.
Titanal is a carefully engineered aluminium alloy for strength. Full sheets of this metal support the wood core, dampen the ride and stiffen the flex for added power and stability. Early rise in the tips and a slight rise in the tail. This profile is versatile and works in both powder and on the groomers.
Are NOT universal rental-type bindings. They are the highest quality Salomon binding available. The STH13 with a max.
Din setting of 13 are mounted on the skis. They are not the heavy rental or DEMO bindings. 70% All Mountain or trail / 30% Powder. Intermediate / Advanced / Expert.
Will need to be professionally drill mounted if you cannot adjust your ski boot to fit. The bindings, as mounted, should fit a boot from around 10.5 US to 12 US. These are mounted for a boot sole length of 326 mm (you can find that number on the side of your boot sole).
As said, there is some variability in the binding adjustment and therefore can deal with a shorter or longer boot sole length. You will need to get a professional shop to adjust the bindings to your boots and set the DIN setting for your weight and ability. There are minor cosmetic nicks in the top sheet. Bases and edges are in. They are freshly waxed and tuned.
