The Ripstick line has undergone some nice upgrades for 2022 and the Ripstick 106 model is a prime example of a modern freeride ski. Built for skiers looking for fun and excitement in softer snow conditions, the Elan Ripstick 106 skis are a perfect choice. These models are all about having fun and using the mountain as your playground. The 106 benefits from a new tip and tail shape that makes turning, smearing, and carving easier and more enjoyable. This new shape makes it easier to slide into turns while the tail is a bit straighter to accommodate a more linear finish to the turn.
They're not hooky or grabby, so playfulness is certainly at a premium here with these 106's. Elan has added Carbon Reinforcement to the skis, and in true Elan form, this only takes place on the inside portions of the ski from the midpoint to the tip. They're keeping the skis asymmetrical, and this is a good thing as far as we're concerned.
It makes the ski function as more of a cohesive unit rather than two independent sticks. The roundness of the overall shape and build of the ski really sets it apart from the competition. Like years past, the carbon rods and tubelite wood core carry through, and again, this is a good thing. The carbon tubes that run the length of the skis are able to do a good amount of heavy lifting in terms of energy, without weighing much themselves.

The number will fall between 255-365mm for an adult ski boot. This number will be greater than your mondo boot size eg. A mondo size of 23.5 commonly has a BSL of 275mm. Please include the "mm" unit to indicate that the number given is the BSL and not the mondo size. For taking Ski + Binding to a certified ski shop before use to make final adjustments and do a safety release check.
