The Volkl RTM 8.0 is an excellent ski for the athletic beginner up to solid intermediate skier who is looking for a forgiving and easy-to-ski ride on the frontside of the mountain. Volkl's Woodcore Construction combines a layer of wood and composite material to deliver a stable and smooth ride that does not require very much skill or technique to make the ski react when and how you want it to.

Tip Rocker helps you push out a snowplow with little effort if you are still at that level, or engage it into parallel turns as you progress your skills. Composite Core:This ski features a composite core, which has a softer flex and is lighter weight than wood cores.

Junior, entry level, and sometimes even women's models have this type of core to make skiing more enjoyable, and less work. Progressive Technology:Features very slightly raised areas across the edge in the mid-body of the ski deliver sufficient stability while allowing effortless turn initiation. The soft-flexing tail facilitates drift at the end of turn especially for beginners and low intermediate skiers.
